Creating content on the fly is stressful and time-consuming.

And not only that, but I’ll bet that you might have noticed that creating content on the fly has you being inconsistent and having consistently low engagement. 👀

So of course, when you are constantly trying to create content on the fly you get easily frustrated and are ready to give up quickly. And I totally feel that, because I used to do this!

When it came to creating content for Razzle’s social media, I was creating on the go. And when you have a toddler (or a life) it becomes really old really quickly.

No one actually wants to be spending 24/7 on their phone —right?? (At least I don’t!)

This is why I came up with a process around batching content. —Batching content is when you create content for two to six weeks of content at a time.

My process comes in two phases:

  1. Planning
  2. Creating

When you have done phase one, phase two is soooooooooooooooo easy.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU CREATE, YOU JUST CREATE!

Yes, batching content takes a chunk of time initially, but it’s going to save you so much time and so much stress in the long run when your content has been batched. And not just that, but you have this peace of mind knowing your online presence is being updated automatically! All you have to do is check-in and engage with your community.

Doesn’t that sound good? Well, believe me, it feels so friggin’ good.

And I want you to feel that same amount of relief, which is why I’m going to walk you through my process AND share my Quarterly Content Calendar Planner with you!

What is a Quarterly Content Calendar Planner?

A quarterly content calendar planner is three separate calendars outlining upcoming holidays, promotions, and content ideas.

It lays out all of your content ideas and helps you stick to a theme! So now your content not only is created and posted consistently, but it’s also going to flow into each idea, one after the next.

And you’ve taken the time to provide value custom to your ideal audience, you’ll naturally see the engagement on your social accounts go up, up, up!

So as you can already understand, having this will help your content creating game immensely.

Gone will be the days of racking your brain trying to come up with ideas the day of because now you’ll have three months planned out ahead. Now when you go to create content you have already done one of the harder parts and you can just let the creating process flow.

For instance, I was doing a lot of blog posts about editing, so I made quite a few social media posts also based around editing.

In the blog posts, I shared my processes and a few tips. Then I took bite-size pieces of information from my blog posts and turned them into social media posts! I shared some free tools, broke down some of my processes, and even directed people to look at my blog for deeper explanations.

And that kind of consistency only comes from planning, my friend.

So now that you know what it is and why it’s truly going to help you, let’s dive into actually using it!

The Planning Process

The first thing I do is make sure the dates of the calendars are set correctly. (You’ll know what I’m talking about as soon as you look at the calendar I shared with you.)

After that, I fill in any upcoming holidays so that I can create content geared to celebrating them. It also helps me prepare for any promotions I have created based on any holidays or events! Honestly, I love the benefits of looking ahead and seeing what is coming up.

After holidays and promotions are filled in, I then look at all of my content ideas. You know, the content ideas you created from Content Planning Part 1…

(If you haven’t followed the steps in Part 1 I highly suggest you go back and do it. It will make this process much faster.)

Choose one theme from there and fill in when you plan to post it on the calendar. (I personally like to colour code my calendars, so anything being posted to Instagram is pink, Facebook blue, both green, blog posts are green, and my emails are orange. But you do what will make the most sense to you!)

Once I’ve outlined all of the topics from that particular theme, I choose another theme and do the same thing. I plan when I want to post each topic until I’ve run out

The goal is to have at least two to six weeks outlined. But you can repeat this process until you either run out of your content ideas or you have the full three months outlined.

**And I really, really want to stress this to you. You do not need to have content for every single day. For a minimum, I’d say 3 posts a week is ideal.

Of course, if you’re able to create content for every single day then definitely do it. But I’m trying to help you make content creation achievable for you so you can be consistent.

Okay, so let’s quickly reiterate the content calendar process:

Step 1)

Fill in the correct dates for the months

Step 2)

Include all upcoming holidays, events, and promotions

Step 3)

Decide how many days a week you’d like to post

Step 4)

Choose a theme and fill in those days with each topic until you’re out. Repeat step 4 until you have a minimum of 2 weeks pre-planned.

Once you’ve done all of that, you’ll be ready to move on to the content-creating process! Woo hoo! 🥳

I hope that you’re feeling excited to jump into content creating after planning out a few weeks of content. I know that once I began this process my life got so much easier and I started feeling lighter.

It was so much easier to schedule two hours for two days every two weeks than it was for me to try to sit down every single day and create on demand. It’s unrealistic!

So I hope you understand the value in it and find the ease that comes with it.

I can’t wait to jump into Content Planning Part 3: Creating the Content!

Make sure you have this series bookmarked so you can reference it in the future. What would be super cool is if you love it, could you share it? 😄

I want to help as many agents and business owners who are struggling with content creation, so if you find value in this it would mean a great deal for you to share it. You know what they say, sharing is caring. 🤗
