Is My Content Good Enough To Post? Two Questions to Ask And More!

Est Read Time: 4.5 Minutes

Are you really too busy to manage your social media or are you struggling with feeling like your content is not good enough to post?

First, I want to say that I understand you are busy, and if you are struggling with keeping up with managing your social media I suggest committing to a number of posts a week you can handle. That could be 5 posts or 3 posts or even 1 post a week!

Just make sure it is manageable for you and make sure whatever you post is for your audience.

Now, let’s talk about you spending too much time trying to perfect your posts.

You are holding yourself back when you don’t post your content [or deleting it after you post it!]

I understand that you are worried that your content is not good enough to post and you have probably tried posting a few times and saw little to no success from it.

I’ll bet that reinforced to you that your content is never good enough, but there are a few things I think you should know.

When you first start out your content is not likely to see ‘huge’ success. It’s normal! I’ve started quite a few accounts from zero and it’s almost always a slow start unless you’re coming to the table with content creation under your belt, you can post every day (or even multiple times a day!), and show up consistently.

Very few people go ‘viral’ overnight. I’m not saying that to discourage you, I’m telling you so you go into this with realistic expectations.

Just because you have a social media account for your brand does not equal immediate success. You have to work at it, create and foster relationships, and show up.

If you hold back from posting out of fear of failing or looking stupid you will never see success online. You shouldn’t treat relationship building differently just because it’s online –you’re still talking to people behind the screen.

You just have to post.

Be prepared to fail.

Just make sure you are paying attention to your audience and making your content about them. When you start showing up consistently providing value to your audience you’ll start to really get to know them, allowing you to make better and better content.

I know that it’s scary at first, I also started out feeling like the content I was creating wasn’t good enough.

I feared I wasn’t reflecting the business owner enough, or that I am posting incorrect information, or that someone might tell me I suck.

It’s not a fun feeling at all!

Do you want to know how I got over that feeling?

I posted the content. And then when I was finally feeling brave enough I would ask the business owner what they thought.

And then I started to ask the audiences what they thought and focused on what they enjoyed. To my surprise, I got a ton of great comments and feedback!

As well, they were really great about giving me advice to make it better.

^^^Which I think is key! If you’re worried about making great content just focus on what the people you are creating it for want.

You have to take a chance on yourself by putting your content out there.

If you need something to help you kind of vet if it is good enough to post, here are two questions to ask.

Two Questions to Ask When You Aren’t Sure If It’s Good Enough to Post:

1. What is the purpose of this post?

If you can’t think of the purpose of the post, don’t post it. You need to make sure there’s a purpose! Usually, when content serves it will: inform, entertain, educate, or solve a problem.

2. Will it serve my audience?

Most importantly you need to ask if it serves the people the post is for. If it doesn’t serve them, don’t post it.

If it does these two things then I think it makes minimum requirements and you should post it!

The only way you can get better is by doing it. If you do it long enough and listen to your audience I am sure that you will start to see more and more success.

Alright, now go to your drafted reels and posts and schedule it. Stop holding yourself back and put yourself out there!

I know you can do it!!

If you want a way to be sure then ask those two questions – What is the purpose of this post and will it serve my audience?

If you can answer those questions then you should post it, but that is just my opinion.

I can’t recommend enough that you just go for it and post!

And if you’re ever feeling stuck on what to post, just think about what your audience is struggling with and how you can help them.

The more time you spend listening the more content you’ll be able to create and the more confident you’ll begin to feel!

So go on and get to posting -I believe in you!
