When you try to find how often you should post on social media you are bombarded with answers.
“Three times a day, every day!”
“At least once every single day.”
“At least once a week, no matter what.”
And the truth is…(*at least this is what I think works best)
IT DEPENDS ON YOU AND YOUR AUDIENCE.
Hear me out before you just scroll on –for most people trying to manage their brand and create valuable, consistent content for their social media, posting three times a day, seven days a week is not feasible.
And for some posting even seven days a week is not feasible!
As well, some audiences don’t need you to post seven days a week.
When it comes to creating content and managing your social media, you want to make sure you are setting a pace you can manage without going insane! So if that means you can only post once a week then do it!
And make that post the best you possibly can! Make sure that is valuable and FOR your audience. That is honestly what is truly important.
There is a lot of ‘noise’ online, do you really want to add to it? Or would you rather be known as the brand that put out quality content your audience loved?
When you try to make content for seven days a week you’ll be sacrificing quality and your relationship with your community. And the whole reason of using social media for your brand is to grow a community of people.
How do you grow a community? By having a relationship with your community!
And of course, relationships work two ways.
You need to give to get. Put yourself into a ‘giving mindset’ and start giving as much value as you can in each post you create.
So that means if you can create quality, valuable content for three times a week –then you rock those three posts!
Be aware though, the reality is that the more you are posting –quality and valuable content –the faster you grow. And if that’s your goal I HIGHLY suggest getting some help.
Like working with Razzle! We take care of your social media or can help take care of a portion –whatever you prefer!
Or on a smaller scale you could hire a Virtual Assistant (VA).
Figure out what is feasible for you in the long-term and start going for it. Stop trying to reach other people’s standards because the only standard that matters is yours.
It’s taken me almost three years to get where I am. Do I wish I was further? Of course, but at the same time I need to be forgiving to myself because at the same time as starting my business I was also a BRAND new mom (literally like three weeks) and COVID hit shortly after.
Although my growth has been small and long, I still can get excited that my business is growing! I am learning more every day and I am getting better at what I do every day.
If you stick to creating content at a rate that doesn’t affect your mental health, personal life, or business that is of quality and tailored to your audience, you will see growth.
You just need to be prepared to grow at a slower rate if you are doing everything yourself because it’s not realistic for you to be able to ‘do everything’ and still have quality relationships. Online or in person.
Don’t sacrifice your relationships to create quantity. Nurture your relationships by giving out your best knowledge!
And if you’re wondering, “If I give out my best knowledge then what do they to pay me for?”
Well, for efficiency!
For you to be able to take from the A to B a lot easier than if they tried to do it themselves. But they’ll choose you over the competition because they have had a taste of your knowledge and skills!
And when they see you giving your ‘best knowledge’ out for FREE they are going to be like, “Well dang, what do they give you when you buy?!”
THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE STRIVING FOR! That is the kind of content you want to be producing one time a week, three times a week, seven times a week –whatever number you can do that means you are not sacrificing quality and value.
I hope that this helps give you clarity and allows you to breathe easier. This is the permission you needed to stop driving yourself insane trying and post every single day when you don’t feel like you can!
Okay, now go back to your content creating, friend. I hope that it feels much less stressful having this kind of knowledge! I know that with all the information out there it can overwhelming to know what to do.
Remember that your health plays a super important role in you producing great content. If you don’t feel your best, you cannot produce the best!
That’s why I think the correct number of times to post a week is what you can do consistently AND sanely.
Best of Luck,
Jordan
